sans-serif;">石井镇奎霞村是福建东南沿海典型的“闽南渔村”，与金门岛仅一水之隔。长期以来，奎霞人“以海为田”“靠海为生”，生息繁衍，创造了灿烂的渔耕文化。三千多人口的奎霞村，侨属达九成，旅居境外并繁衍的人口，是村庄人口的五倍之多。在这里，每一幢静静矗立的洋楼，都在诉说着一个个背井离乡、白手起家、荣归故里的故事。</p><section style="outline: sans-serif;">自明万历年间始，奎霞人漂洋过海、外出谋生者络绎不绝，他们多数旅居菲律宾或香港等地从事商业活动。自清末年间起，在外拼搏的奎霞人致富不忘家乡亲人纷纷回乡建置家园，一栋栋富有闽南特色的古大厝，中西结合的红砖洋楼成了如今闻名于世界的“奎霞古民居建筑群”。建筑大多沿东西走向的奎霞古街两侧错落排列，形成了古村落的街巷交通体系。现保存较好的清末建筑有林氏宗祠、林文质故居、代庵大厝、四祧大厝、远胜大厝等5座建筑，均为砖石木构筑，单进两落三开间或单进两落五开间，抬梁式或穿斗式木构架，硬山顶，燕尾脊。现保存较好的民国建筑有应源楼、绍东楼、泉胜楼、蔚萱楼、春晖楼等5座建筑，均为砖石构筑，大多为二层或三层楼房，红砖或水泥或者砖混结合外立面，水泥廊柱，三角形山尖，平顶。新中国成立初期建造较为典型建筑有江星楼、怡安居、柳姑楼等3座建筑，均为砖石构筑，多为二层楼房，平面呈三开间或五开间。为研究清末、民国、新中国成立初期的闽南侨乡民居建筑提供了实物资料。</p><span
