年农历7月15日出生于福建省南安石井村，是我国杰出的民族英雄郑成功的旁系后裔。1979年3月2日，他在对越**中英勇献身，壮烈牺牲，享年二十二岁。</p><p style="text-align:justify;text-indent: 2.21428em;">郑跃进烈士英年早逝，一生短暂，但他的一生是既平常而又非凡的一生。</p><p style="text-align:justify;text-indent: 2.21428em;">1964年9月入石井中心小学念书。他学习勤奋认真，学业成绩一向优异，时常名列前茅，因此甚让同学刮目相看。然因家境贫寒且兄弟众多，他为辅家计，毅然辍学从耕，并参与最艰苦的盐田建设等。他年纪虽小，但凡事干练，积极奋勇，不嫌脏，不怕累，经常出色地完成劳动任务。因表现突出，博得广大村民之赞誉。1976 年3月，他光荣地应征入伍，踏上了保家卫国的光辉道路，服役于广州军区守备六团三连，并光荣地加入**。 </p><p style="text-align:justify;text-indent: 2.21428em;">郑跃进在服役期间，适逢越寇猖狂无忌地挑衅于我西南边疆，激起了中华民族的无比愤慨。为此，党中央、**、中央军委当机立断，作出了自卫还击的英明决策。命令一下达，郑跃进战士热血沸腾，踊跃报名，强烈要求参战，获准被编入中国人民解放军五三二四九部队一营三连三排七班任副班长，旋即随部队奔赴战斗前线。 </p><p style="text-align:justify;text-indent: 2.21428em;">郑跃进所在的参战部队是一支有着光荣战斗历史的功臣部队。该部队创建于1937 年1月，在抗日战争和**战争中皆屡立殊功，成为一支鲜有罕见的常胜劲旅。该部队的光荣历史给予了郑跃进莫大的鼓舞和鞭策;部队的老英雄们也成为了郑跃进的光辉典范。这就是郑跃进烈士在战斗中英勇杀敌的力量源泉。</p><p style="text-align:justify;text-indent: 2.21428em;">1979 年 2月17日，该部队开始从布局关向敌纵深推进，过靠松山，直插东溪县;18日攻占嫩金山口、弄梅隧道等敌据点;19 日抵果冈，克博山;21日破490高地东北侧之无名高地;24 日攻下高平省会;25日至28日镇守高平城。3月1日协同大部队攻占光头山，2日进军茶灵县途中与据守800高地之越军展开激战，历经八小时，方攻克并占领800高地。战斗中，郑跃进副班长奋勇当先，勇往直前，在距敌仅十几米处之际，敌军开始发射四0火箭弹，当敌发射第一枚后，郑跃进及时地向张副指导员（张学全）喊话提示，话音刚落，敌军的第二枚火箭弹随即发射，正中郑跃进头部，“张副指导员，敌人开始打火箭弹了，注意。”这响亮而急促的话音就成为了郑跃进烈士的绝语。 </p><p style="text-align:justify;text-indent: 2.21428em;">郑跃进烈士牺牲后，初葬于广西凉山;1988年，广西政府相关部门将之迁葬于龙州烈士陵园;2004年，其兄弟郑育乾等为方便家乡人民对烈士郑跃进的祭拜和缅怀景仰，经多方努力，方幸得福建、广西两地政府相关部门及烈士生前战友的大力支持和帮助，终如愿以偿，将烈士骨灰奉回家乡安葬，让烈士英灵长眠故土。 </p><p style="text-align:justify;text-indent: 2.21428em;">郑跃进烈士牺牲后，中国人民解放军五三二四九部队给予追记"三等功";其所在的参战连队被中共中央军事委员会授予"尖刀英雄连"荣誉称号。 </p><p style="text-align:justify;text-indent:
